The immersive experiences that AfroBuenaventura facilitates, offers travelers a deeper cultural encounter that most other tourists won't have.
Ronnell believes that the impact of tourism should benefit local businesses and communities. He strives to contract and support Black, and women-owned entities.
Through travel, he intends to facilitate high quality immersive experiences, positively impact local economies, and uncover the common humanity that connects us all.
Business
Ronnell Perry helps tourists elevate their travel by providing custom itinerary curation and culturally immersive experiences. He specializes in developing itineraries that center Afro-descendant communities in Latin America, focusing on community development and sustainable tourism.
He began AfroBuenaventura Transformative Travel in 2016 after a trip to a remote fishing village on Colombia's Pacific coast. There, Ronnell witnessed youth celebrating the pride they have for their African roots during a folklore festival.
The spirit of that moment charged him with helping Black communities in Latin America tell their stories through sustainable tourism.
Experience
Ronnell has more than 20 years of international travel and community development experience.
Ronnell is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, and holds a Master's Degree in Public Policy & Management, and a B.A. in International Business. He served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Paraguay and Costa Rica, and has visited over 15 countries.
He currently serves as chair of the board of directors for an international education non-profit.
Ronnell also holds a certificate in Tourism & Hospitality Management from Florida Atlantic University.
He lives in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil.
